XP Light introduces XP FROQ: luminous marker buoy for positions on the water

Hamburg, August 2, 2026 — Carpetlight GmbH is expanding its XP Light program with the XP FROQ: an inflatable marking buoy that makes positions on the water clearly recognizable even in the dark. The system is designed for tactical diving, maritime operations, dive training, and water rescue.

Why Marking on the Water Matters

On open water at night, there are no references: no landmarks, no scale, no orientation. Entry points, safety points, or objects are undiscoverable without marking, and divers surfacing won't know where they are.

The XP FROQ permanently marks such points. Its light and infrared signals are visible from at least 600 meters in the dark. Divers, swimmers, or objects on and under the water can be marked.

Ten Colors, Flash Modes, and Numbering

The buoy features ten selectable light colors in various flash modes. This allows multiple points to be coded simultaneously, such as entry, safety, and boat. Upon request, the buoys can also be numbered from 0 to 9, allowing up to ten positions, teams, areas, or targets to be clearly distinguished.

Infrared for Covert Operations

In addition to visible light, the XP FROQ offers an infrared function. The IR signal marks the position exclusively for night vision devices; to the naked eye, the buoy remains dark. This allows tactical diving and maritime operations to maintain orientation without revealing it.

Program Integration

The XP FROQ is the latest system in the XP Light program. It is based on the same development and manufacturing as the XP ALPHA 2⁺, XP DELTA⁺, XP FIREFLY, and XP TENTACLE operational lights, which are used by armed forces, medical services, and aid organizations — adapted for tasks above and below water.

Availability

The XP FROQ is available for inquiry now. Color combinations, numbering, and quantities will be coordinated by XP Light according to the respective operational concept. Datasheets, operating instructions, and final certification details will be published at the official market launch. A patent application has been filed for the buoy (file number 10 2026 123 817.3).
