Notes on Battery Disposal and the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act

1. Disposal of Batteries (Battery Act - BattG)

In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices that
contain batteries, we as a dealer are legally obliged to inform you of the following:
You are legally obliged to return used batteries as an end-user. The
disposal of batteries in normal household waste is expressly prohibited according to the Battery Act.
You can return old batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our assortment
free of charge to our shipping warehouse or send them back to us by post:

The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning: The symbol of the
crossed-out wheeled bin means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury

2. Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(ElektroG)
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin on electrical or electronic devices means
that these devices must not be disposed of with household waste at the end of their service life.
End-users are legally obliged to separate these devices from unsorted municipal waste
collection (e.g. at local recycling centers).
Old batteries and accumulators that are not firmly enclosed by the old device, as well as

lamps that can be removed from the old device without destruction, must be separated from the device without destruction before
being handed in at a collection point.
